And now it’s time to catch up with Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker, centre) and her pals Miranda (Cynthia Nixon, left) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis, right) – though fans of Kim Cattrall should be warned that her racy character is not set to appear: apparently Samantha has ‘moved to England’.

No matter: there will still be any number of fabulous fashion outfits to wow us, plus lots of entertaining angst and busy love lives for the ladies to negotiate, along with the welcome return of a number of other familiar faces, among them
