Reel Stories: Sting

BBC2, 9.25pm Saturday night continues to be music night on BBC2, with Sting (right) and his former band The Police taking over the channel this time around.

The evening kicks off with a compilation of clips in TOTP2 Police Special! at 8.25pm. Later, Sting: When The Last Ship Sails (10.10pm) features songs from his 2014 musical and is followed by Old Grey Whistle Test: Police In The East (11.30pm).

But the pick of the bunch sees the singer-songwriter, who recently celebrated turning 70 by releasing his

15th solo album The Bridge, chatting to Dermot O’Leary about his life and career.

O’Leary jogs Sting’s memory about various key moments – including his first TV appearance in 1978, his Live Aid performance and the 2007 reunion with Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers – by playing him archive footage found in the BBC archives. )))))
