HOW A HALF-TIME TWEAK TURNED TIDE FOR HAMMERS

-

DAVID MOYES made a key tactical switch at half-time that inspired West Ham’s comeback. The West Ham boss changed from a 3-4-3 to 3-5-2 which saw Manuel Lanzini drop from the wing into central midfield and get Jarrod Bowen further upfield alongside Michail Antonio. Bowen’s touchmap (right) shows he had more shots and touches in the box in the second half against Chelsea, while the table (below) shows Lanzini’s deeper role. IT WAS Lanzini (circled) dropping deep into a midfield three with Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek and Bowen pushing forward that set up West Ham’s second goal.
