Johnson said: ‘It was a good game in terms of competitiv­eness.’ McGreal added: ‘I look back on it and it’s an add on from Wigan last week.’ James Norwood put the home side in front before Nathan Broadhead levelled.

PAUL WARNE was relieved to see his Rotherham side come away with three points courtesy of Daniel Barlaser’s strike. ‘They asked a lot of questions, ‘ the boss said. ‘They’re one of the hardest competitor­s we’ve played.’ Cambridge boss Mark Bonner said: ‘It’s hard but we’ll have to dust ourselves down.’

FLEETWOOD’S revival under caretaker boss Stephen Crainey continued as they picked up a hard-earned point at Morecambe. Crainey said: ‘It was a typical derby and I felt we deserved the three points for the effort. Morecambe boss Stephen Robinson added:

WIGAN manager Leam Richardson was delighted to come away from Oxford with three points. ‘Sometimes your morale, fitness and your organisati­on gets you through games,’ he said. Will Keane, James McClean and Max Power won it for Wigan, with Ryan Williams and Matty Taylor netting for Oxford, who were without 11 players, four due to Covid.

PLYMOUTH 1 CHARLTON 0

NEW Plymouth boss Steven Schumacher was delighted after they ended a run of five games without a win. Schumacher said: ‘I am really pleased that we have got three points on the board.’ Striker Kieran Agard’s superb finish sealed the points and Charlton boss Johnnie Jackson said: ‘It was a disappoint­ing day.’

SHREWSBURY 3 CHELTENHAM 1

STEVE COTTERILL saluted the ‘incredible effort’ of his 10-man Shrewsbury side. Daniel Udoh hit a double, while David Davis was also on the scoresheet, and Tom Bloxham was sent off. Andy Williams had equalised for Cheltenham, whose manager boss Michael Duff said:

‘You have to take the positives.’
