A gong for Whitty is just wrong

Why has Professor Chris Whitty, the Chief Medical Officer, been given a knighthood in the New Year’s Honours? Surely with such a controversial figure, his service and achievements are a matter of opinion.

I’m amazed that Prof Whitty has received a knighthood. After all, he is already on a salary greater than that enjoyed by Boris Johnson, and unlike the Prime

Minister, he isn’t accountable to the public.
