AS THE bubbly star of Channel 4’s hit Big Breakfast show, party girl and leading ladette Denise Van Out en won an army of male admirers.

But true romance has been harder to find for the TV star, newly single after splitting from Eddie Boxshall, her partner of seven years.

The news is likely to surprise viewers of Celebrity Gogglebox, where the couple – who were engaged to marry later this year – were shown happily sharing opinions on the latest TV shows.

But on Friday it was reported that Ms Van Outen had ended her relationship with Boxshall after she discovered he was messaging and secretly meeting other women.

A source told The Sun: ‘Denise is both furiously angry and utterly heartbroken. It’s the very last thing she expected to happen after she had been so happy with Eddie.

‘She thought this was for ever. But while she has been out at work he’s been sat in her home betraying her trust.’

It is the latest in a series of failed relationships for 47-year-old Ms Van Outen, who has dated a number of high-profile men.

She was also married to actor Lee Mead, whom she met while judging Andrew Lloyd Webber’s reality show Any Dream Will Do. The show was held to find a star for the lead role in his West End show, Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Ms Van Outen, who has an 11-yearold daughter, Betsy, from the marriage, dated Jamiroquai frontman Jay Kay for three years until 2001 before finding love with Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels actor Nick Moran soon afterwards.

Following their split, Ms Van Outen went out with West End nightclub owner Richard Traviss for two years before they split in 2005. A brief romance with Alan Partridge star James Lance followed before she met Mead in 2009. They married in an idyllic ceremony in the Seychelles but split four years later. On Friday, Ms Van Outen revealed on Instagram her sadness over the failure of her latest relationship. Alongside a black- and- white picture of her walking her dogs on the beach, she posted: ‘Over the past couple of months, there has been much speculation regarding my relationship with Eddie.

‘It saddens me to confirm that we are no longer a couple. I had to make the difficult decision not to continue in our relationship. I will always treasure the good times we spent together, and the memories made.’ Boxshall, 47, who has two grown-up daughters, posted a picture on the social-media site of a mirror bearing the words: ‘When everything is uncertain everything that is important becomes clear.’

Hundreds of wellwishers wrote him messages of support, including Petra Ecclestone’s fiance Sam Palmer. Ms Van Outen and Boxshall had been due to tie the knot later this year after postponing their wedding due to Covid restrictions.

But the couple recently revealed that they had undergone relationship counselling to ‘iron out the niggles’ before they married. ‘Saddens me to confirm we are no longer a couple’
