Give ordinary voters more respect, Boris

-

Lord Frost called on Boris Johnson to revitalise the country with ‘free markets, free debate and low taxes’ and to ‘set the direction of travel’ to appeal to ordinary voters. I’ll tell you what ‘ordinary voters’ want. They want more respect for their contribution to the national wealth, a better, trustworthy health service, and much more. The Conservative Party must remember that in a democracy, we are all equal.

Geoffrey Bennett, Chester

I agree with Lord Frost. He said Boris Johnson ‘is the right leader but with the wrong people and wrong policies’ – which is hard to disagree with. One policy in particular that doesn’t sit right with me is Boris’s plans to fluoridate all of England’s tap water which would force everyone to drink this chemical. Please bring back the man of the people!

Lord Frost is right. There should be zero tolerance for the woke or anyone divisive in our society. Nobody should be allowed to stifle free speech.

H. Mitchell, Dublin

I’m afraid Lord Frost’s call for old-fashioned Conservative capitalism won’t win elections, as conviction politics died with Margaret Thatcher and Jeremy Corbyn. Future elections will be determined by lowering the voting

age and postal and online voting – Keir Starmer and Boris Johnson are smart enough to see that.

Roy Daniels, Luton

Boris Johnson is a man of the people who got us through a very tough time with the pandemic and delivered Brexit. He may be a bit of a buffoon at times, but he’s a brilliant Prime Minister.

S. Olson, Birmingham

According to former Brexit Minister Lord Frost, Boris Johnson should ‘trust his instincts more’. Unfortunately, where this Prime Minister is concerned his instincts amount to reneging on manifesto commitments, breaking promises and being as deceitful as possible at every step. If that is the sort of PM the noble Lord wants, I, for one, most certainly do not.

Michael Claughton, Folkestone

Grumpy Lord Frost has never been elected, so it is somewhat arrogant of him to tell the Prime Minister what to do.

Sir Bob Russell, former MP for Colchester

I don’t believe that Boris Johnson is the right leader. He is a clown who could get away with buffoonery and chaos as London Mayor, but not as

PM. He is a complete liability and he should be replaced as soon as possible.
