WYCOMBE boss Gareth Ainsworth condemned Oxford fans who allegedly sang homophobic chants. Referee Anthony Backhouse halted the game at the start of the second half before an announceme­nt was made, calling out the abuse. A home fan then invaded the pitch, confrontin­g Oxford’s Steve Seddon and the away end before being led away.

GOALS from Sylla Sow, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Sam Hutchinson and Josh Windass saw Wednesday beat Plymouth. Adam Randell and Marvin Johnson (own goal) scored for the visitors.

ACCRINGTON 1 SUNDERLAND 1

MITCH CLARK scored a late leveller for 10-men Accrington, leaving Sunderland boss Lee Johnson frustrated. ‘We have got to play for 95 minutes,’ he said. Aiden O’Brien had put Sunderland ahead before Ross Sykes saw red for the hosts.

STEPHEN CRAINEY admitted he felt ‘drained’ after his Fleetwood side beat leaders Rotherham. Toto Nsiala set up fellow substitute Anthony Pilkington to score the game’s only goal.

WOLVES loanee Theo Corbeanu scored a stunning first MK Dons goal to fire his side to victory at Portsmouth. Boss Liam Manning called it ‘a terrific strike’. Mo Eisa was also on target for MK, with George Hirst scoring for Portsmouth.

KIERAN LEE and Dapo Afolayan struck twice in seven minutes to end Bolton’s run of five successive defeats. Manager Ian Evatt said: ‘This does not change things and make us a good team.’

DONCASTER 1 WIGAN 2

LEAM RICHARDSON was disappoint­ed his Wigan side failed to ‘take control of the game’ against Doncaster. Goals from Max Power and Will Keane had Wigan in command but spirited Rovers pulled a goal back through Omar Bogle.

STEPHEN ROBINSON hailed Trevor Carson for showing his class after the goalkeeper marked his Morecambe debut with a fine display. Manager Robinson said: ‘He took the pressure off us.’

CHUKS ANEKE’S last-gasp leveller earned Charlton a point. The visitors’ manager Johnnie Jackson said: ‘I didn’t think we deserved anything.’ Dan Nlundulu’s first goal for Cheltenham looked to have been enough to seal the win.

MICHAEL APPLETON admitted his Lincoln side delivered the performanc­e but not the result. Joe Ironside headed home to settle the contest and Appleton said: ‘We were outstandin­g.’

STEVE COTTERILL admitted Shrewsbury could have been sharper in front of goal. The visitors went closest through defenders Matthew Pennington and Ethan Ebanks-Landell. Cotterill said: ‘We had enough chances.’

GILLINGHAM caretaker boss Steve Lovell said the goals they conceded were ‘terrible’. Robbie McKenzie had put the hosts in front, before Tom Hamer, John Brayford and Jonny Smith won it for Burton.
