Safety blind spot

My new car has far more technology than I need, with rearview cameras, lane control, auto braking and other features. After a 200-mile drive in dazzling sunlight I started to wonder why, with all this unnecessary technology, we have to rely on a simple fold-down visor to protect our vision.
