Ban for drink-drive teacher

-

A TEACHER has been struck off after she was caught driving a car full of children four times over the alcohol limit on the first day of her new child-minding business.

Christina Manning, 36, was banned from teaching for at least five years by watchdogs who said it was ‘more luck than good judgment that nobody was hurt’.

A district judge in Chester was told the mother of two, from Little Sutton, had been binge drinking at a barbecue on June 23, 2019 – the night before launching her business.

The next day, she downed a glass of wine before setting off to pick up her son from nursery. She had children aged 13, ten and one in the car.

She was jailed for 16 weeks after admitting drink driving and being drunk in charge of a child under seven, but this was later reduced to a suspended sentence.
