Don’t sway pupils, Zahawi warns
NADHIM ZAHAWI will this week fire a warning shot across the bows of woke teachers by telling them to teach – not indoctrinate.
The Education Secretary will issue new guidelines, reminding teachers to be ‘politically impartial’ – not ‘sway’ youngsters with their own personal opinions.
The move emerged just days after Mr Zahawi condemned a lesson held in a Nottinghamshire primary school amid claims Year 6 pupils were encouraged to write letters criticising Boris Johnson over ‘partygate’.
Last year Mr Zahawi insisted that pupils should not be taught ‘contested theories and opinions as fact,’ such as white privilege.
