Coach’s ‘naked photos’ of athlete
A FORMER US Olympic snowboarder has accused a coach of sexual misconduct and a team-mate of racism, triggering an investigation by the sport’s governing body.
Snowboardcross rider Callan Chythlook-Sifsof, a member of the 2010 Olympic team, wrote in an Instagram post that Team USA coach Peter Foley had taken naked photos of female athletes as well as making inappropriate comments.
She also accused one-time team-mate Hagen Kearney, who finished 17th in the men’s snowboardcross event in Beijing, of regularly addressing her with the n-word. ‘I will not carry this stuff around any more,’ posted Chythlook-Sifsof.
Foley, coaching the US’s snowboarders in Beijing, has denied the allegations, which are being investigated by US Ski and Snowboarding.
