Marchers: End attacks on women
HUNDREDS marched through Central London yesterday to demand an end to violence carried out by men against women and girls.
Supporters of the Million Women Rise collective walked from Charing Cross police station to Scotland Yard, to highlight scandals involving police officers in the past year.
Many wore red to symbolise the blood of women who have died at the hands of men.
Million Women Rise spokeswoman Sabrina Qureshi said: ‘Violence against women is widespread in our society, yet none of our political leaders are willing to truly take this on. We need change.’
