Queens Of Mystery

If you watch the streaming service Acorn TV, you may have seen this comedy-drama series. If not, but you’re a fan of murder mysteries in a similar vein to Shakespeare & Hathaway, you’re in for a treat.

Olivia Vinall plays DS Mattie Stone who, when we first meet her, is returning to work with the local police force in her home village of Wildemarsh. It looks like a sleepy, friendly kind of place, but as is so often the case, dark forces and mayhem lurk behind the net curtains.

Mattie soon finds herself up to her neck in trouble while investigating a murder within the world of publishing. Her boss orders her to keep her family out of it, but seeing as her aunts Cat, Beth and Jane (Sarah Woodward, Julie Graham and Siobhan Redmond, left to right with Vinall, centre) are crime writers with insider knowledge, that’s going to be difficult. ★★★★☆
