Left back maestro Cole puts Kenny in his place

CHELSEA defender Andreas Christensen is close to agreeing a move to Barcelona. The Denmark international, 25, has been free to talk to foreign clubs since January, with Bayern Munich also making him an offer.

Barca are also keen to sign Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta, 32, and have offered him a two-year deal with the option for a third year.

ASHLEY COLE has already made an important contribution at Everton by helping Jonjoe Kenny become a left back.

The right-sided Kenny has had to switch flanks following the sale of Lucas Digne and says having Cole on Frank Lampard’s coaching staff has been invaluable. ‘I’ve spent a lot of time with Ashley working on the transition from right to left, changing my body shape and how I defend,’ says Kenny.

‘He was the best in the world during his time so I’ve got the best to learn off. It’s a great position for me to be in.’
