TOULOUSE Olympique turned the Super League form book upside down with a 22-20 victory over previously unbeaten champions St Helens at Stade Ernest-Wallon.
The French club came from 18-12 down to snatch their first win of the season, courtesy of winger Paul Marcon’s try two minutes from time.
Chris Hankinson proved instrumental in the victory, landing a try and three conversions.
Saints coach Kristian Wolff said: ‘We’ll have to learn some lessons from this quickly. It wasn’t something we saw coming, we trained quite well in the week running up to this.’
Elsewhere, Wakefield coach Willie Poching hailed the performance of half-back Mason Lino, whose 18-point haul set up a 38-22 victory over Warrington.
Lino claimed a crucial second-half try as well as landing seven goals from seven attempts.
