WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE . . .

...between an Education Health And Care Plan and a Continuing Healthcare package?

-

BOTH relate to Governmentfunded care for vulnerable people. An Education Health And Care Plan (EHCP) concerns children and young people who need support. It is a document, completed by the professionals involved in a child’s care, that outlines what is needed to help them fulfil their potential.

Continuing Healthcare (CHC) is a package of health care services for people with long-term complex needs, paid for by the NHS, and is mainly provided to elderly people who have conditions such as dementia. Younger people with disabilities may also qualify. To be eligible, you must undergo a series of assessments by a team of healthcare professionals.
