Is there anything as dependably joyous as the sublimely silly game show presented by Greg Davies (right) and his studiedly understated sidekick Alex Horne?

As a ten-part run begins, a new line-up of five comedy stars is introduced, each of them hoping to be the eventual champion: Father Ted’s Ardal O’Hanlon, stand-ups Bridget Christie and Sophie Duker, reality show veteran Chris Ramsey and Loose Women regular Judi Love.

The surreal genius Davies begins with a round asking the contestants to nominate ‘the thing that if you found it in a skip you’d be most excited by’, before a hunt for the ‘natural enemy of bread – ducks’, and finally the comics are required to create a painting worthy of the Turner Prize but using only make-up.

Davies’s merciless asides alone are, as ever, worth tuning in for.
