MANCHESTER CITY and Liverpool have pushed themselves to new heights. Since the start of the 2018-19 they are separated by a single point.

SINCE City racked up 100 points in 2017-18, the Premier League champions (City in 18-19 and 20-21 and Liverpool in 19-20) have averaged over 95 points. Before then, in 20-team PL seasons, the average was just 86. In those seasons Manchester United won the title they averaged 84 points.
