As this supernatural thriller opens we meet young motocross enthusiast Neve (Clara Rugaard, right). She seems to be caught deep underwater in a lake but then rises determinedly to the surface.

It turns out that she is actually dead, yet somehow still exists in a form that allows her to see the mortal world, and to observe her increasingly distraught family as they wonder what has happened to her.

Quite why she’s caught in this limbo state isn’t clear, but soon she’s attempting to solve the mystery of her own death – and most of all to find out who was responsible for her demise.

Adapted from the Belgian drama Hotel Beau Séjour (available on All4), this eightpart series may be weak on credibility, but it has an arresting pulpy quality that will keep you watching, as long as you can suspend your disbelief. )))))
