FANS VENT FURY AT GLAZERS
MANCHESTER UNITED locked down parts of Old Trafford in the face of fresh anti-Glazer protests before the game against Norwich.
Up to 2,000 fans demonstrated outside in scenes reminiscent of a year ago when anger towards the American owners led to supporters breaking in and forcing a game against Liverpool to be called off.
The club’s megastore was closed an hour before kick-off and the
steel shutters were lowered on the directors’ entrance and all corporate areas.
Hundreds of fans missed the first 20 minutes of the match as they were forced to wait outside, while others answered the call to boycott the first 17 minutes of the match — one minute for every year of Glazer ownership. The protest had been organised by ‘The 1958’.
