Patricia Highsmith’s much-admired 1964 novel has been adapted for the screen by writer-director Hossein Amini. Kirsten Dunst and Viggo Mortensen play a holidaying married couple targeted by a conman (Oscar Isaac, above) before all three are incriminated in a murder. ★★★★
