SWISS-born entrepreneur based in Wyoming. Made his fortune in medical manufacturing, selling his company Synthes for reported $15bn in 2012. Accused of inappropriate sexual behaviour in 2011, he reached a settlement with alleged victim. No charges were brought. Worth £4.05bn.
Jonathan Goldstein
BRITISH property tycoon who has worked with Boehly before. CEO of investment firm Cain International, which has assets worth £8.2bn. Tried to buy Spurs, the club he supports, in 2014.
Clearlake Capital
PRIVATE equity firm with HQ in California. Reported to be providing two-thirds of the funding for the bid. It has more than £57bn of global assets under its management.
Daniel Finkelstein
BRITISH journalist, former Government advisor and Chelsea fan. Brought in on a consultancy basis. Thought to be lined up for role as a non-executive director.
Barbara Charone
AMERICAN PR executive in London. Blues fan, acting in advisory role. Also reportedly set for non-executive position on board.
George Osborne
FORMER Chancellor of the Exchequer, Chelsea fan and a partner at Robey Warshaw, the London-based investment bank Boehly hired as consultants.
