‘PATHETIC’ PROCESS AFTER HEADS CLASH

-

CHRIS SUTTON branded concussion protocols ‘pathetic’ after both Robin Koch and Aymeric Laporte were able to rejoin play after a sickening clash of heads (above).

Defenders Koch and Laporte were treated on the pitch, with the Manchester City star later admitting that he ‘didn’t know exactly what happened’.

Sportsmail columnist Sutton, an advocate of temporary concussion subs, tweeted: ‘Pathetic concussion procedure ... it’s really shameful’.

FA rules state a player should be removed from the field and not allowed to return even if there is just a suspicion of a player having sustained concussion.
