Nordic Murders

It’s been the setting for two seasons of one of the most successful of the continental drama thrillers in the Walter Presents strand. Now we’re back on the island of Usedom in the north-east of Germany (so not very Nordic then) for a third run.

Ex-lawyer – and former criminal – Karin Lossow (Katrin Sass) is once more on the case of a suspected murder, now with a new partner in homicide detective Ellen Norgaard. As in every holiday season there’s been hard partying in the resort, but the latest drug-infused rave finds a boy dead and a girl sexually assaulted.

All this comes too close to home for Karin when it turns out that the host was her nephew Ben (Emil Belton, far right, with Rainer Sellien). Matters are then further complicated by the arrival of his father, a policeman, setting up a conflict between justice and family loyalty. ★★★★☆
