Commons to ‘break taboo on menopause’

-

THE House of Commons is to be made a ‘menopause-friendly’ employer under plans being looked at by Sir Lindsay Hoyle.

The Speaker is considering proposals to better ventilate rooms, offer flexible working and give staff lighter uniforms.

Sir Lindsay, who is set to sign the Menopause Workplace Pledge created by charity Wellbeing of Women, said: ‘I want to break the taboo – just as we did with mental health issues – and get everyone in our parliamentary village talking about the menopause.’

In April, the MoS unveiled its Fix The HRT Crisis campaign to help menopausal women get better access to treatments.
