Matson praises yellow calls

-

HARLEQUINS head coach Tabai Matson praised Luke Pearce after the referee showed four yellow cards for high tackles in his team’s play-off defeat by Saracens.

Quins’ hopes of back-to-back titles were dashed despite Saracens losing Elliot Daly, Billy Vunipola and Alex Lozowski to the sin bin. Harlequins hooker Jack Walker was also shown a yellow after colliding with Owen Farrell’s head.

‘I thought Luke did an exceptional job with the ferocity of the rivalry,’ said Matson. ‘The tackle stuff is always contentious but I thought he got those decisions right.

‘Luke talked through what he saw and he talked through it really clearly. He did a really good job.’
