THIS DROPPING IS CATCHING!

-

AFTER shelling four chances on Friday, there was time for one more England drop yesterday morning courtesy of Matt Potts in the deep off the bowling of Jack Leach. The reprieved batsman, Daryl Mitchell, went on to make a further 86 runs. But then the Kiwi centurion, who spent 477 minutes at the crease, was guilty of passing up two chances of his own — first off Ollie Pope and then Alex Lees (below).

In total just 65 per cent of catches have been taken in this Test which is the third-lowest rate for a Test in England in the last 10 years.
