Special copper with his own royal family
AS THE son-in-law of Queen Noor of Jordan, he could have secured prime seats at the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Instead, Ned Donovan offered to help keep the crowds safe as a Special Constable on The Mall. The
28-year-old, who married Princess Raiyah bint Hussein in 2020 and is the grandson of Roald Dahl, was spotted near Buckingham Palace in his Met Police uniform.
Mr Donovan, a former reporter with The Mail on Sunday, began working as a Special Constable last year, around the same time as Sir Rod Stewart’s wife Penny Lancaster. He regularly flies in from Jordan to perform his duties in London and last weekend posted a photo of mounted cavalry on Twitter, with the comment: ‘Even when it’s overcast our ceremonies shine.’
