Keir would be 10 times worse than the Tories
I do hope that Rishi Sunak read Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg’s piece in last week’s Mail on Sunday about Tories being in a torpor. I’ve always voted Conservative, worked all my life and have never claimed a bean – yet what is there to show for it? I can’t even claim my not-so-generous state pension because the goal posts have been moved. For the first time in my life, I won’t be voting at the next General Election.

Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg last week stated that there has been no incentive for Conservatives to vote. If this attitude is taken at the General Election, then we let in a Government that will be ten times worse, so there is every incentive to vote even if one doesn’t agree with all the Tories are doing.

We need a new Conservative
Party. We also need to flush down the toilet most of the Civil Service. Only then, I feel, will the UK get back some common sense. If the Labour Party seizes power, they’ll be just as useless as this current Government.

The country voted in a Tory Government with a massive majority and instead ended up
getting a Labour Government wearing a faux blue cloak – net zero, mass immigration, national debt, taxes, EU courts still ruling Britain and silly woke issues.

Rishi Sunak inherited an utter shambles from the foolhardy Liz Truss and Kwasi Kwarteng. It will take him a while to restore our credibility as a party.

As a Tory voter, my biggest fear isn’t that Labour and Sir Keir Starmer will make things worse – it’s that they’ll make things better. Imagine if they sort out the costof-living crisis and stop the small boats. If that happens, the Tories won’t stand a chance of getting back into power for a generation.

I think Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg ought to look in a mirror. One of the reasons for the situation we’re in is because he supported Brexit and Truss. He hasn’t once apologised for his mistakes, but he keeps lecturing others about their mistakes. I think it’s time somebody more competent handles the situation.

Truss was going to reduce taxes and was vilified for it. The Tories need a strong leader with gravitas. Boris Johnson was hugely popular but unfit for office. Rishi Sunak is a vote-loser for the Tories in the same way that Jeremy Corbyn was for Labour. I think the game is up as there is no obvious replacement for Sunak. Labour have it in the bag.
