Please support our emergency appeal with Gaza charity
THE National is today launching a fundraiser with Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP), looking to raise money to help with the increasingly deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza.
Men, women and children are literally starving. More than 30,000 Palestinians are dead, more than 70,000 have been injured. And the humanitarian situation is only getting worse.
The National has been historically supportive of the Palestinian people. You can see it in our coverage – from our front pages to our exclusive Diaries from Gaza series. But we want to extend those words of solidarity to something more tangible.
That’s why we are launching this week-long fundraiser on behalf of Medical Aid for Palestinians – one of the only organisations able to provide aid on the ground in Gaza right now. We will also be releasing exclusive content throughout the week until next Saturday March 16, highlighting the dire humanitarian situation and what we can do to help.
The National supports Medical Aid for Palestinians campaign is looking to raise £15,000 by next Saturday.

Your donations can literally save lives. The World Health Organisation has previously warned that disease could kill more Palestinians than bombs as disease and infection spreads in densely populated areas like Rafah, where 1.5 million people are taking refuge.
lA £25 donation would buy 25 antibiotic injections used to treat respiratory tract infections and intraabdominal infections.
lIn Gaza’s collapsing health system – where only 17% of primary healthcare centres are still operational – injured children are being operated on without anaesthetic or pain killers. £500 of your money could buy 500 vials of intravenous paracetamol used for pain relief.
lDeaths are slow, painful and too often preventable. £1000 could buy 3000 oxygen connecting tubes, delivering oxygen from an oxygen tank to a patient’s respiratory tube through a nasal cannula or face mask, ensuring patients receive a continuous and controlled supply of oxygen.
lGaza’s 12 partially functioning hospitals are being bombarded, and crucial equipment damaged beyond repair at their greatest time of need.
