The Hairy Bikers Go West (BBC2, 7pm)

THIS series has become rather poignant following the sad news of Dave Myers’s death. At least we get to see him truly enjoying himself back in the saddle alongside Si King. In the penultimate episode, they explore the region around the River Severn, during which they taste the wares of a food stall in Newport that specialises in Mexican fusion dishes. They also visit Netherend Farm in Gloucestershire where owners Wyndham and Linda have invented a nutty clarified butter.

The Martin Lewis Money Show: Budget Special (STV, 8pm)

WHAT do Chancellor Jeremy Hunt’s announcements last Wednesday actually mean for the public? Lewis is here to explain it all in his usual easy-to-understand manner. He also offers welcome advice on what we should all be doing financially before the end of the tax year, which is just around the corner. Plus, there are more money-stretching tips in News You Can Use.

Saving Lives at Sea in World War II (BBC2, 9pm)

DERMOT O’Leary spent much of his childhood roaming England’s east coast, bringing him an affinity with the ocean. It has also inspired his support of the RNLI. As a result, he’s proud to be presenting a special edition of Saving Lives at Sea dedicated to those who carried out rescues during the Second World War. O’Leary travels to various coastal locations and takes to the waters to find out more about such key moments as Dunkirk and the Battle of Britain. Descendants of wartime crew members are on hand with incredible stories, while historians help bring their exploits to life.

Snow Going Back: Comic Relief vs the Arctic (BBC1, 10.40pm)

IT’S Comic Relief on Friday, but Sara Davies, Vicky Pattison, Alex Scott and Laura Whitmore have already done their bit. Last month, they took part in a gruelling challenge that saw them heading to the Arctic Circle. Beginning in Tromso, Norway, they had just four days to trek, cross-country ski and cycle to the finish line 50km away. That might not sound like an impossible distance but given they were dealing with harsh disorientating conditions, the constant threat of snowstorms and just eight hours of light a day, it was a truly epic journey.
