Andi Oliver’s Fabulous Feasts (BBC2, 8pm)

FOR her latest feast, Andi Oliver is in Stoke-on-Trent, where local artists Anna and Rebecca run a community project that aims to breathe new creative life into a deprived neighbourhood. Andi wants to organise an arts festival to celebrate their achievements – and, of course, there will be food involved. As well as sourcing the best local produce and culinary talents, she plans to add a dash of Northern Soul to the proceedings, while facing some of her own artistic demons.

Race Across The World (BBC1, 9pm)

THE teams head to Lombok – and less than five hours separate the pairs. After leaving Nara City, they must cross their first border into South Korea to reach the second checkpoint in the seaside town of Sokcho. It’s a leg of two halves, the first of which takes them through budget-busting Japan. The second half will take them across the length of South Korea. Will the gap between them widen, and is anyone starting to regret their choice of travel companion?

The 1980s Supermarket: Posh Food Revolution (C5, 9pm)

THE final edition of the series focuses on the late 1980s, when yuppies were splashing the cash on high-end food, while hard-up Brits were buying budget basics. As ice-cream giant Walls launched their cheap but sophisticated ice cream dessert Viennetta, a plethora of posh products hit the supermarket shelves, including chardonnay and sun-dried tomatoes. We also learn more about the value convenience range Happy Shopper and how the superstores started selling the latest must-have gadgets – from Sony Walkmans and VHS players to Casio watches and ZX Spectrums.

Mammoth (BBC2, 10pm)

MIKE Bubbins heads the cast of this new sitcom, which has shades of Life On Mars (and maybe the first Austin Powers film). He plays PE teacher Tony Mammoth, who in 1979 was living the bachelor lifestyle until he was caught up in an avalanche on a school ski trip. It was assumed he’d died but in 2024, Mammoth is miraculously found frozen and brought back to life. He expects his old life will still be waiting for him but, while he may not have changed, the rest of the world has.
