A Very British Sex Scandal: The Earl & The Escort (C5, 9pm)

IN 2004, Anthony Ashley-Cooper, the 10th Earl of Shaftesbur­y, disappeare­d. His body was found several months later in a ravine at the foothills of the Alps. One of Britain’s wealthiest men, his disappeara­nce led to much speculatio­n from his friends and family as well as the media. This documentar­y looks at the case and hears from the woman convicted and jailed for aiding and abetting the Earl’s murder, his estranged wife, Jamila M’Barek.

Race Across The World (BBC1, 9pm)

THINGS are heating up – at the end of tonight’s third episode, the team in last place will be eliminated. The contestant­s have to get from the chaotic Vietnamese capital Hanoi into Cambodia to reach one of the fastest-developing cities in Southeast Asia, Phnom Penh. The pairs must make a tough decision on whether to stick to the more popular tourist route, which will take them along the Vietnamese coast to Ho Chi Minh City before following the Mekong River into Cambodia, or take the road less travelled, which may be shorter but also has less reliable transport.

Stacey Solomon’s Renovation Rescue (C4, 9pm)

THE presenter helps a father and daughter in Suffolk whose hopes for a fresh start after a bereavemen­t were dashed when building work went badly wrong. Solomon helps them to rethink their design and teaches them how to do jobs themselves to save money, including switching out windows for doors and fitting out their own fireplace. She also gives the pair design tips inspired by a cosy industrial aesthetic that’s perfect for their multi-generation­al household.

Growing Up Jewish (BBC1, 10.40pm)

The Bar and Bat Mitzvah is a uniquely Jewish rite of passage which marks the transition from childhood to adulthood. This documentar­y follows a group of four young Jewish people, aged 12 and 13, as they prepare to mark one of the biggest nights of their lives. For each, it will involve a special religious ceremony followed by a celebratio­n, but their events will be very different as they reflect a range of Orthodox, Reform, Ashkenazi and Sephardi voices and traditions.
