THE ROYAL COURT

After starting out as a theatre, just before WWII, in its 1980s and 1990s life the Royal Court was one of the city’s biggest music venues, on the tour lists of stars such as David Bowie, George Michael, U2, and REM.

A Grade II listed building, seating just over a thousand, it now proudly produces eight plays every year, mostly comedies and musicals, with a Liverpool theme and largely Liverpool cast and crew.

Sets are built in the city and rehearsals happen in the theatre so the Royal Court is a real all-Scouse experience. Shows for 2022 include Mam! Am Ere and YNWA – Let’s Talk About Six.
