Serving up summer Wimbledon style

-

Nothing signals the start of the British summer quite like Wimbledon fortnight.

Even if you’re not a big tennis fan, just the sight of all that Pimms and chilled Champagne – and the trademark strawberries and cream, of course - being enjoyed around the world famous SW19 courts is enough to get anyone in the mood for al fresco indulgence.

This year’s tournament marked the 45th year of partnership between the Wimbledon championships and premier Champagne house Lanson, and at the Titanic, we too are partnering with Lanson to keep that unique Wimbledon vibe going long after the trophies have been lifted.

No need to take a seat on Centre Court, or even with the crowds on Henman Hill, because we’re bringing the experience closer to home with Stanley’s Bar & Grill gourmet White Star Afternoon Tea.

The luxurious high afternoon tea was recently launched for the tournament, and will continue to be available right throughout the summer months. Served on beautiful Villeroy and Boch crockery, to add an extra sense of occasion, it’s the perfect way to celebrate a birthday, an anniversary or just as a treat for someone special.

The menu, which will be available for a limited number of bookings each day, will feature the finest British classics including Scottish smoked salmon and cucumber with horseradish sandwiches, and York ham with tomato chutney sandwiches.

There will also be a selection of delicious desserts, chef's choice, as well as specialty tea from Quintessential or a cup of Johnson's coffee finished off with warm scones served with clotted cream and fruit preserve.

To add a little sparkle to our Colonnades this summer, we will also have the Lanson Champagne bike located out there, overlooking the water, and guests who buy a glass of Champagne will be gifted a complimentary green Wimbledon coaster.

Founded in 1760, Lanson has a royal warrant and is one of the oldest and most respected Champagne houses in France. Its Champagnes have a global appeal and are known for their elegance, freshness and ability to stand the test of time – just like Titanic Hotel!

In fact, we have so much in common that our partnership won’t end with the White Star Afternoon Tea and Champagne bike on the Colonnades.

The hotel is delighted to be launching a new Lanson VIP area soon which will be an exciting addition to our guest experience and definitely one worth raising a glass to.
