KING’S LYNN T 4 CHIPPENHAM 0

- By Greg Plummer

WIDEMAN Kurtis Revan marked his debut with a goal as King’s Lynn ended Chippenham’s strong road run in style.

Revan capped an impressive display by opening the scoring before further goals from Sam Gaughran, Jacek Zielonka and Michael Clunan inflicted the Bluebirds’ away first defeat this season.

Midway through the first period, Revan saw his cross turned over the woodwork after clever work between Clunan and Zielonka.

But the Linnets new boy, a 20-year-old product of Derby County’s academy who arrives at The Walks after being dually-registered with Corby and Rugby, fired his side in front six minutes later.

Revan picked up a clearance from Lee Stevenson’s corner on the edge of the box, jinked past Will Richards and rifled into the bottom corner.

The visitors were the better side at the start of the second half, but on 58 minutes Gaughran thumped home a Stevenson corner on the half-volley.

Lynn wrapped the game up three minutes later when Zielonka pounced to punish a dreadful error by Bluebirds keeper Kent Kauppinen.

Worse was to follow for the visitors, when Dylan Edge squared for Clunan to round off a one-sided affair on 66 minutes.

Chippenham were denied a late consolation when Alex Street denied Ryan Campbell with a brilliant save at point-blank range.
