THE SOUTH WEST PENINSULA took a break with the Walter C Parson Cup taking centre stage.

The second round kicked off on Friday night with a cracking tie as Premier Division high-flyers Plymouth Argyle Reserves beating West Division Millbrook 4-3 in a thriller.

In an all-Premier Division tie, Launceston beat Saltash 4-2 on penalties following a 2-2 draw after extra time.

Penzance ousted St Dennis 7-5 in a 12-goal thriller, Teignmouth picked up an emphatic 5-1 win at Holsworthy, Bodmin were 4-2 winners at Portleven and Torridgesi­de edged out Axminster Town 4-3.

Cullompton Rangers, Falmouth, Godolphin Atlantic, Mousehole, Plymouth Parkway, Stoke Gabriel, Tavistock, Torpoint Athletic and the University of Exeter also won through.

DAVE COCKERILL smashed in an 88th-minute winner to keep hosts Teversal top of the table after a stout rearguard action from Arnold Town.

Bottom club Radcliffe Olympic were denied a second successive victory by Graham Street Prims, with Oliver Ball popping up to score a 92nd-minute equaliser in their 1-1 draw.

Jack Jepson was a hat-trick hero for Gedling Miners Welfare in their 5-2 win at Dunkirk, with Dwayne Brown also scoring twice.

Michael Fitzhugh and Idris Kabongo both scored in Borrowash’s 3-1 win at Aylestone Park.

Elsewhere, Anstey Nomads won 5-1 against Kimberley, Belper beat Barrow Town 3-0, Birstall edged out Radford 3-2, Holbrook Sports saw off Ashby Ivanhoe 3-0, Blaby won 2-1 at West Bridgford and Holwell drew 1-1 with Stapenhill. NAT SYLVESTER

THERE'S no stopping Wolves Sporting Community at the moment after they made it 11 wins from 12 starts with an emphatic 8-0 demolition job on local rivals Bilston Town to go five points clear at the top.

Tom Hill led the way by hammering home a hat-trick while further goals flew in from Phil McKerdy, Ethan Delaney, Kieron Northwood, Jon Letford and Angelo Franko.

Second placed Cradley Town slipped up when they crashed 5-2 at home to Wolves Casuals.

Jay Holdcroft scored two, the first inside 60 seconds, and Liam Hughes hit a hat-trick for Casuals.

Tividale climb up to second spot after walloping bottom side Wellington Amateurs 7-0.

Chris Bladen converted a second half hat-trick with Nathan Jones, Joe Lawley and Curtis Cocking on target.

Che O’Connor completed a hat-trick for Dudley Town but was still on the losing side as they lost their basement battle with Stone Old Alleynians 4-3.
