ROCK-BOTTOM Billingham Synthonia crashed 7-3 at Seaham Red Star, for whom Liam McBryde scored a hat-trick. Five goals in the first half and six in the second ensured this game was never short of goalmouth action.

Leaders Morpeth Town maintained their push for the title with a narrow 2-1 win at lowly Washington.

Bishop Auckland and Consett played out a 1-1 draw a Heritage Park, Shaun Ryder with a last minute equaliser for Bishops.

High-flying Shildon had four different scorers in a 4-2 home win over Guisboroug­h Town at Dean Street.

Nathan O'Neill scored a treble in Sunderland RCA's impressive 5-2 win at Jarrow Roofing.

In the only other top flight game Penrith went down 3-2 at home to Newton Aycliffe, Shaun Gardiner with a brace for the Cumbrians.

NORTH WEST COUNTIES

STRUGGLING Squires Gate produced the performanc­e of the day to draw 2-2 at Winsford United.

Robbie Hatton had given the home side the lead, but the Blackpool-based visitors hit back to lead 2-1 at the break through goals from Mark Buchan and a Jack Williams strike.

A Justin Pickering penalty 15 minutes from the end earned Winsford a share of the points.

There were three other games in the Premier Division and Widnes were the day’s biggest winners as they beat Maine Road 5-1, Sam Sheen scoring twice.

Jake Hargreaves scored twice as Padiham ran out 3-1 winners at AFC Liverpool.

Northwich Victoria survived a late fightback from visitors Congleton Town to win 3-2, their goals coming from Brian Matthews, Sam Fitton and Rory Gorman. DAVID LAWRENCE

NORTHERN COUNTIES EAST

MALTBY MAIN missed out on going top of the Premier Division after being held to a 2-2 draw at Thackley.

The visitors had a number of chances to open the scoring before Thackley made the breakthrou­gh from the penalty spot through Mike Garrod.

But the lead lasted just two minutes before Main were awarded a penalty which Dan Patterson duly scored.

Ross Duggan then handed the visitors a 29th minute lead, only for Garrod to level the scores shortly before the break.

Elsewhere, Declan Bacon bagged a hat-trick to help fire Bottesford Town to a 4-2 win over Albion Sports.

AFC Mansfield edged to within three points of the top following their 2-0 win at Barton Town.

Rainsworth MW ran out 3-1 winners at Athersley Rec and a Nash Connolly double handed Hemsworth MW a 2-0 win at home to Penistone Church.

UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE

SLEAFORD TOWN picked up their first win of the season against new boys St Andrews.

George Cousins hit two goals and Jamie Shaw and Jack Pemberton one each, as Sleaford won 4-2.

Wellingbor­ough Town won 5-1 at Rothwell Corinthian­s thanks to goals from Mark Pryor, Michael Cipelli, Devon Ellwood, Adam Speight and Justin Dowling.

An Aaron Hinds brace, an own goal, and Jodh Oloyowo, Scott Sandy, Ibby Akande all helped Northampto­n Sileby Rangers to a 6-3 home win over Oadby Town.

Josh Winters, Fazel Koriya and Tom Liversedge netted for Newport Pagnell Town as they beat Kirby Muxloe 3-1 away.

Greg Usher, Gladman Barnes and Ben Williams were on target for Harborough Town in their 3-1 home win over Daventry Town.

ESSEX SENIOR LEAGUE

THE big movers were West Essex who won 1-0 at home to Stansted to move up five places to third place.

Isaac Marfo got the only goal just before the hour mark.

Southend Manor won 2-0 against Wadham Lodge at Southchurc­h Park.

The best game of the day was at Mile End Stadium where Barkingsid­e beat their hosts Sporting Bengal United 3-2.

After goals from Side’s Chid Onokwai and Tony Cookey, the Bengal’s response came from Oscar Mendes and David Vaughan. But two minutes from time Michael Ogboin snatched the points.

In the Errington Cup Ilford travelled to Redbridge and came away 3-1 winners. They did it the hard way going behind after ten minutes to a goal from Josh Hutchinson. But a double from James Peagram and a late finish by Isaiah Anjourin ensured the Foxes victory. DAVID BALLHEIMER

EASTERN COUNTIES

WROXHAM are up to fifth in the table after a crushing 7-2 home win against Haverhill Borough on Saturday. Connor Deeks struck a hattrick as the Yachtsmen ran riot.

Brantham Athletic suffered a 2-1 defeat away to Saffron Walden Town.

Long Melford climbed out of the relegation places with a 4-1 away victory against Wivenhoe Town, while Fakenham Town secured their second win of the season with a 2-1 win against Hadleigh United.

Elsewhere, Ipswich Wanderers are now in the drop zone after losing 2-0 away to Walsham-le-Willows and Kirkley & Pakefield beat Haverhill Rovers 2-1.

Stanway Rovers ran out 3-2 winners against Histon.

Four goals from Josh Mayhew guided Stowmarket Town's to a 4-2 victory over Ely City and FC Clacton versus Great Yarmouth Town ended goalless. RORY HAYWARD

SPARTAN SOUTH MIDLANDS

BERKHAMSTE­D extended their lead at the top of the table to four points after they won 4-3 at Hadley.

The hosts parted company with manager Mickey Hazard in the week, but it was Berkhamste­d who started started well and were rewarded as early as the 5th minute when Stacey Field fired home before Adam Mead scores to double his sides advantage.

Harry Sedgley pulled one back for Hadley but Mead’s second, an exquisite free kick, restored the visitors two goal lead. Sean Coughlin’s excellent goal meant the points were safe for the visitors.

Hoddesdon Town moved into the top six after they beat London Tigers, 4-0 thanks to goals from Fraser John, Leigh Rose with two and Louis Rose.

St Margaretsb­ury are out of the bottom three after a 3-1 win at home to Stotfold, Jon Stevenson and Mason Todd among the scorers.

COMBINED COUNTIES

BEDFONT Sports were the real weekend winners following a depleted programme.

Friday’s 6-1 thrashing of Chertsey Town lifted Eagles into second spot in the Premier Division.

Darryl Sanders bagged a brace, while Jacob Lambe, Conor Moody, Scott Harris and sub Matt Riggs sealed success despite only holding a slender 1-0 interval advantage.

In form hosts Sutton Common Rovers climbed two spots to fifth following their 3-0 Gander Green Lane victory against Godalming Town’s nine men.

Redhill drew 1-1 with Banstead Athletic at Kiln Brow.

CB Hounslow United rose four places to 11th thanks to Dragons’ 3-0 win at AFC Hayes.

North Greenford triumphed 3-1 at Abbey Rangers thanks to a Brian Testolin double and Charlie Connor.

SOUTHERN COMBINATIO­N

CHICHESTER CITY are just one point from the top of the table after securing an impressive 1-0 away win against Eastbourne Town on Saturday. Ellis Martin scored the game's only goal in the 16th minute. The result means Chichester are now one point behind both leaders Haywards Heath Town.

In Division One, Little Common retained top spot after a 3-1 away victory over Storringto­n. Brad Pritchard, Adam Smith and Jamie Crone were all on target.

Wick remain in second after a crushing 4-0 home win against Oakwood and a Richard Wetton hat-trick saw Lingfield win 3-1 over Selsey.

Langney Wanderers suffered a 2-1 defeat away to fifth placed Steyning Town.

Sam Gravestock grabbed a brace in a 3-1 away win for Billingshu­rst against Southwick. RORY HAYWARD

HELLENIC LEAGUE

BRIMSCOMBE & THRUPP triumphed 2-1 at fourth-from-bottom Highmoor Ibis. Karol Nash waited 77 minutes to break the deadlock and Ollie Pitt sealed success effectivel­y three minutes later.

Binfield drew 2-2 with Tuffley Rovers at Stubbs Lane. The hosts were indebted to an own goal after 52 minutes to ensure a share of the spoils.

Abingdon United suffered a 3-2 defeat by Burnham at Northcourt. Graham Edney and Samuel Wharton scored in vain, while Jordan Dowdican, Charlie Fox and Mickel Platter boosted Burnham’s spirits.

Woodley United won 1-0 at Fairford Town to sink their rivals to the basement thanks to Danny Horscroft’s matchwinne­r in the first half.

The match between Lydney Town and Brackley Town Saints was the only postponeme­nt following the wretched weather which swept the country. DAVID GROVES

CORINTHIAN denied Croydon the chance to go top with a 4-1 win. Jack Bath, Mike Hurcomb and Conor Johnson put the Hoops in command and although Andy Mott reduced the deficit at the death there was time for Oscar Housego to score a fourth.

Glebe came from a goal down to beat AFC Croydon 3-1 at Roxbury.

Max Fitzgerald, Jason Goodchild and Adrian Stone scored for the hosts after Chevron Xavier put the Rams ahead in the 15th minute.

Lee Friend's added time goal earned Chatham Town a point at Crowboroug­h Athletic.

New signing Michael Hagan had given the visitors the lead before Tom Phipp scored twice for the Crows.

Bearsted beat neighbours Rochester United 1-0 with Reece Collins scoring in the 54th minute.

In Division One Gravesham Borough beat Crockenhil­l 3-0.
