ODEH’S POWER BEATS TOWER

Tons leave it late

CLAPTON eked out a 1-0 win against fierce rivals Tower Hamlets at the Old Spotted Dog, with both sides finishing a man short.

The Tons missed a hatful of chances. Hassan Nalbani missed at least three of them, somehow managing to lift one over the bar from a yard. But Ikem Odeh fired home the winner on 82 minutes. The other goals came from Mihal Dinou, Cosmin Anton and George Tavan. Davd Vaughan got Sporting Bengal’s brace. Takeley saw off Hullbridge Sports with a double from Jason Todd after 65 and 78 minutes. Keeping on their tails are Basildon United who beat Burnham Ramblers 4-1. Tommy Barton and Luke Hornsley scored after 13 and 16 minutes and Hornsley and Danny Dafter added the others on 47 and 56 minutes. Hackney Wick triumphed 3-0 at Southend Manor with goals from Ibrahim Camara, Jay Idemudia and Jake Casey. A goal in each half, from Shaun Harris and Josh Hutchinson gave Redbridge a fine 2-0 win at Stansted.
