The Non-League Football Paper

FULL-TIME IS GOING MOBILE

-

AT the moment, FULL-TIME gets to a team level. The next big shift for us is to go to the individual – player – level. How can we then use that to influence participation? If we can see where a player looks to be dropping out of football, maybe they’ve only played once in the last three months, we could then direct a specific message to that person. It might be that they’re injured. They could then tell us about the injury and the FA could give some information from the England physio to help recovery. Or it could be the player has moved from Newcastle to London and hasn’t had the time or energy or time to find a new club. We could then show the teams in the area looking for players, connect with the club secretary Data capture could allow us to do so much and we at the FA can be smarter about decisions we are making, whether that’s investments in the game or creating new programmes to keep the game growing for all. The FA are making big investments in facilities and it’s always a challenge figuring out what areas need a 3G pitch the most. If you can see an area that frequently has games cancelled and the impact is a few thousand people can only play football once every three weeks, we can look at it. The information is there, it’s happening as we speak. All this information means the FA can be smarter and more data-based about decisions we make.
