MANAGER INS & OUTS
IT’S been busy at Gateshead this month. Neil Aspin was appointed Port Vale manager after their disappointing start to the season which led to the sacking of Michael Brown.
Neil, a Vale legend, has taken Lee Nogan (assistant manager) and ex-Luton and Tranmere gaffer Gary Brabin (first-team coach) with him as part of his coaching staff.
In his place, Steve Watson has landed his first managerial post at the Heed. The ex-Macclesfield No.2 is no stranger to the area having played for neighbours Newcastle United in the golden era of Kevin Keegan, racking up over 250 games for the Toon.
Earlier in the month, Liam McDonald said he had taken Solihull Moors as far as he could, the ex-Hednesford boss was shortly back in the dugout at lowly Evo-Stik Premier side Rushall Olympic. Liam was replaced by Richard Money as he took over the reins at Solihull Moors after leaving the Norwich City academy.
This is a great coup for the Birmingham outfit as Richard is vastly experienced at this level and will be looking to install his philosophy on the Moors. Ex-Kidderminster boss Gary Whild has been appointed as his No.2.
