BEADLE CEMENTS SEADOGS VICTORY

- By Will Baines

SECOND-HALF goals from Nathan Curtis and Jimmy Beadle secured the three points for Scarborough against hard working Colne side.

After a timid start to the game, a melee midway through the first half saw Nathan Valentine hit the crossbar with a header while Curtis had an effort cleared away for the home side.

Tommy Taylor made a flying save to deny Colne midfielder Shiraz Khan as the first-half finished goalless.

The deadlock was broken minutes into the second half

as Curtis headed in at the near post from a corner delivered by Michael Coulson.

Chances were spurned for the hosts as Dave Merris, Coulson and Max Wright missed the target.

Curtis was also forced from the field just after the hour due to an injury, bringing Beadle into the fray.

He was unlucky not to score in the 75th minute as he ghosted onto a Max Wright centre, but lifted it over the bar. But Boro finally wrapped things up in injury time as Beadle netted his second in as many games.
