WOODS MAKING MOVES UP TABLE

- By Alan Evans

A STUNNING late strike from Tayshan HaydenSmith earned the Woods all three points after a spirited fight-back from struggling Fleet Town.

It was a scrappy firsthalf though Northwood had the better of the chances and led after Harry Newman diverted Lewis Ochoa’s wayward shot past goalkeeper Liam Beach on 37 minutes.

The Fleet stopper made a couple of good saves to keep the Hampshire side in the game and when the predatory Patrick Ruzicka levelled from close range the visitors looked good for a point until HaydenSmith latched onto a loose ball and rifled a shot in.

With nine points from three games in eight days the Woods are now nestled safely back in mid-table.
