BRAKES PULL OUT ALL STOPS

- By Paul Edwards

LEAMINGTON ended a tough month unbeaten as they cruised to a comfortable win over struggling North Ferriby.

The Brakes made a strong start, going ahead on seven minutes when Kurtis Revan’s long throw found its way to Jack Edwards, whose shot looked to have taken a deflection as it looped up and over Ferriby keeper Ross Durrant into the net.

Revan won a penalty on the half-hour when his perseverance saw him into the box, where he was brought down by Jake Skelton on the touchline. Rob Thompson-Brown stepped up to send Ross Durrant the wrong way from the spot.

Revan won a second penalty for Brakes on 56 minutes when a superb turn on halfway and a blistering run towards goal saw him pulled down by Jordan Cooke. Thompson-Brown stepped up once more and fired in his sixth of the season.

The visitors went close to a consolation late on, Tony Breeden making a good save, but Leamington saw out time for their second home win of the season. STAR MAN: Kurtis Revan (Leamington) ENTERTAINMENT: ★★★★★
