BUXTON 1 BARWELL 1
AFTER spurning three golden chances Buxton had to settle for a share of the spoils versus a resilient Barwell.
It was a batlle from the first minute until the last as both sides pressed forward for all three points in a tight and tense affair.
The first miss came in the 23rd minute when Liam Hardy latched on to a long ball and from the by line pulled back a fine pass for the on-rushing Joe McGee but he blazed a 15 yard shot over the bar.
Ten minutes later the Bucks did find the net with Luke Hinsley’s composed finish following a defensive error.
Just prior to half time the visitors equalised as Eddie Nisevic profited from good work by exDerby striker Callum Ball to net from 15 yards.
Early in the second half it was Hardy who missed a good chance for Buxton when put through by Joe Magee and his team mates went close when Joe Maguire, from an Andy McWilliams free kick, headed across the face of goal with two colleagues unable to touch home.
Buxton’s last good opening came late on when substitute Sam Smith, racing clear of the defence, shot low and wide.
