LANCASTER’S run of home games without a win extended to five.

After controlling much of the first half in which they went ahead, Lancaster found the visitors a totally different proposition after the break with two excellent late saves from goalkeeper Josh Powell earning them a share of the points.

Lancaster almost took the lead after five minutes when Sam Bailey found space in the penalty area but his shot was well saved by Liam Castle.

It was his brother Charlie Bailey who eventually gave them the lead midway through the first half when he made a strong run towards the penalty area and although there was an attempt to obstruct him, he was able to score.

Barwell pushed an extra player forward at the start of the second half and it bore early dividends with an equaliser after 50 minutes when Brady Hickey found himself free in front of goal and although Powell came out quickly, he found the net off the crossbar.

The final chance of the game fell to Barwell’s Matt Stenson in stoppage time as he was played through on goal but was denied by another stunning save from Powell. STAR MAN: Josh Powell (Lancaster) ENTERTAINMENT: ★★★★★
