WHITBY FORCE ALBION FIGHT
WITTON Albion scraped a win in what seemed to be a very uneventful game with a goal from Michael Wilson giving Albion the three points.
It took until the last ten minutes for Whitby Town to really step on the gas after Albion, leading in the first half through Michael Wilson, got on the end of Owen Dale’s loose shot.
The closest the Seasiders got was in the 77th minute when Matthew Tymon’s shot was cleared off the line by Danny McKenna only for Keiran Weledji’s header to be saved.
It was a fairly even game between the two sides in the first half with both sides having periods of play when they dominated proceedings. However Whitby struggled to create any real clear-cut chances with Tymon’s effort the only real chance on goal Whitby had.
The Seasiders had Witton penned into the edge of their own box for the remaining ten minutes but Albion kept the likes of Hulme, Tymon and Mondal at arms length.
A win for Albion keeps them in the hunt for the play-offs with Albion moving up to eighth place after Hednesford Town, who dropped down to ninth, lost at home to Warrington Town.
