HARLOW TOWN 2 STAINES TOWN 4
STAINES Town moved within a point of the playoff places after a second-half goal flurry.
The visitors went ahead with a fortuitous goal after quarter of an hour when Max Worsfold crossed in from the left and somehow it evaded everyone in the box and went in.
Harlow nearly equalised soon after the restart when a scramble inside the Staines box needed the slightest of touches to poke the ball over the line, but the visitors cleared the danger.
Staines doubled their lead through Lewis Driver, with David Hughes unable to get enough on the ball.
The fightback was on with 20 minutes to play when the hosts pulled a goal back. Harry Honesty's cross from the left was turned into his own net by Ugo Udoji. Four minutes later Harlow were level when Jared Small latched on to a long goal clearance and drilled home.
The Hawks’ hopes of getting something from the game were dashed less than a minute later. Elliot Buchanan smashed a powerful shot goalwards which was saved but Lewis Driver reacted quickest. Buchanan then played in Mohamed Bettamer with six minutes remaining to score.
