GREEN DASH TO APPOINT A NEW DUO
SPARTAN South Midlands Premier side Leverstock Green have promoted Peter Waller and Mark Royal to joint managers following the resignation of Scott Dash.
The pair joined the club last November, Royal as assistant manager to Dash with Waller as head coach.
Former Chelsea apprentice Royal, who signed professional forms for Charlton Athletic and who has also played for several Non-League sides including Kingstonian and Hampton & Richmond Borough, has been assistant manager at Biggleswade United. Waller was head coach at Colney Heath.
Green chairman Nick Christou said: “Their combined depth of experience and UEFA qualifications coupled to an established and impressive reputation now provides Leverstock Green with an excellent opportunity to develop and move forward.
“Both Pete and Mark are highly focused, professional and possess an unrivalled attention to detail.”
Minnows Eaton Socon have been denied promotion in the Steps 5-7 summer shake-up – because their pitch is four metres too short.
The Kershaw Cambridgeshire Premier side had hoped to be included in the new Eastern Counties Step 6 set-up.
But FA inspectors ruled that while their River Road ground was up to scratch in every other way, their pitch was not long enough.
Now, their manager, Mark Spavins, has left the club to join ChromaSport United Counties Premier outfit Eynesbury Rovers as reserve team manager.
